My speculations with the introduction of WhatsApp Channel

#1. You may experience fewer status views as Channel gets rolled out to millions of people daily.  The reason is not far-fetched. It’s simply because people can now find their favorite big brands on WhatsApp to keep them entertained. 

#2. Expect more public engagement than private communication. With the social media giants coming to dominate as usual, people will spend more time interacting on channels than with their friends.

#3. Millions of newly created Channels will eventually be deleted in a few months to come. It’s quite normal for people to jump at an update. Take Threads for instance. Millions of newly created WhatsApp channels especially by people who just want to try it out and see how it works will eventually get deleted. WhatsApp channel has it’s purpose. And if your job, brand, or business doesn’t require it, you have no reason to create one.

#4. If you already have a social presence, then Channels is just the right tool for you to bring your followers closer. 

#5. Ads isn’t coming to WhatsApp anytime soon. However, some people are speculating that WhatsApp may soon introduce ads since they may now show ads on people’s public channels.

However, whether or not ads is coming to WhatsApp, you already have an available resource that provides you with guides on how to run ads across several Meta platforms including Ad Manager, Business Manager, WhatsApp Business etc.
